In
Honor of Election Day!
To remind us all of the importance of Election Day, API will
host a movie night at historic Paulsdale. HBO's
Iron-Jawed Angels (2004) tells the remarkable story
of the aggressive women's suffrage campaign led by Alice
Paul (Hillary Swank) and Lucy Burns (Frances O'Conner).
In their resourceful campaign for the vote, the two led
suffragists to parade, petition, and picket the White House
in 1917. Enduring arrests, brutal beatings and
harrowing forced-feedings in jail, the suffragists of the
National Woman's Party carried on, determined to win their
right to vote. |
 |
Light refreshments will be served.
Price: FREE, donations welcome.
Seats are limited and registration is required.
