Alice Paul & the Leadership Parade

A history/character education program
for 1st -3rd grade

This two-hour program is a great way to combine history, art and character development in one fun lesson. Students learn about New Jersey suffragist and Quaker, Alice Stokes Paul, and how she used leadership skills (and a magnificent parade) to get women the right to vote. Following a discussion on leadership skills, students work in teams to build a parade float model that displays leadership descriptions like...

Courage     Honesty    Strength    Fairness

(plus travel for off-site locations).
