With your financial support the Alice Paul Institute pursues three primary goals:
- preserve and maintain Paulsdale, Alice Paul’s family home, as an historical and community resource for future generations
- offer educational, leadership development, and civic engagement events open to a diverse constituency
- advocate for equality and the full ratification of the Equal Rights Act, which Alice Paul authored
Donors helped make the following outreach possible:
- API served over 2,878 people this year including:
- 609 elementary school students visited Paulsdale for our popular program Meeting Alice
- 225 middle and high school girls participated in one or more of our leadership training programs: Lead-A-Way, APPLI: College & Careers, and the Girls Advisory Council
- 600 visitors to Paulsdale for tours of the “Ordinary Equality” installation
- 576 audience members who viewed one or more of our presentations on Alice Paul
- 800+ guests at events including the Alice Paul Equality Awards and Paulsdale Uncorked
- 68 researchers utilized the library and archive collection held in the Barbara Haney Irvine Library to research and promote interest in Alice Paul across the country
- This year, API provided worldwide outreach online to:

Casual and One-Time Donors
You can make a significant impact with a one-time donation to the Alice Paul Institute. Your donation directly supports girls’ leadership programs and offers general operation support to API. Casual donations can be made via check by mail, credit card over the phone, or online through our safe and efficient Network For Good site.

Annual Appeal and PaceSetter Donors
As an annual appeal or PaceSetter donor you support the general operation and programs of the Alice Paul Institute throughout the year. You can make an impact with either a one-time or a recurring donation through check by mail, credit card over the phone or online through our Network For Good site.
Annual Appeal: API leads a robust series of Annual Appeal Campaigns that are ideal for non-recurring donations. Appeals are released four times per year through mail and email campaigns.
PaceSetter: Interested in maximizing your gift over time? Become an Alice Paul PaceSetter with a recurring donation. Give automatically on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or semiannual basis through our Network for Good site. An Alice Paul PaceSetter is an integral part of API’s capacity to plan for future programming and outreach.

The Alice Paul Leaders Circle includes individuals who pledge an annual gift of $1000 or more in unrestricted funds. To date, the Leaders Circle has contributed more than $268,000 to support Alice Paul Institute programs and the maintenance of Paulsdale.
Join the Leaders Circle by pledging a donation now and pay in quarterly or monthly installments. However you decide to pay, your unrestricted gift of $1,000 or more will help to expand the Alice Paul Leadership Program into new communities, introduce new programs, maintain the restoration of Paulsdale for educational use, and enhance the ability of API’s staff to carry out the organization’s mission and vision for the future.

Alice Paul Legacy Society
Join the Alice Paul Legacy Society and support the Alice Paul Institute beyond your lifetime. If you share Alice Paul’s vision for full gender equality, you can support the cause by including a legacy gift in your will or by making API the beneficiary of your life insurance policy or requirement account. You can also choose to have your legacy gift support the general operation of API, or a particular aspect of our work that is particularly meaningful to you personally. Taking the step to do this now will ensure Paulsdale will remain a vital symbol of women’s history and a thriving center of leadership development for women and girls.

Corporate Partners and Sponsors
As a non-profit and public institution, the Alice Paul Institute solicits corporate and business sponsorships for programs and events such as Paulsdale Uncorked, the Alice Paul Equality Awards, and many others. Corporate and business sponsors gain access to API’s social media networks where they receive public recognition for their financial support.

Community Partners often sponsor API’s special events, fundraisers, and educational programs. Perhaps your company can feature API programs in your employee newsletter, display API brochures in your place of business, or host a workplace presentation on Alice Paul’s work for women’s equality. API also welcomes corporate volunteers; volunteer opportunities range from hands-on projects, special events committee participation, and potential Board membership. Our Community Partnerships are promoted on all API’s web site and social media streams and can rent Paulsdale seven days a week for corporate events, retreats, business meetings, holiday parties, and other functions.
