Why Raising $15,000 Is Vital This Year
This year the Alice Paul Institute is striving to meet the ever-increasing demand for our empowering girls’ leadership programs. In our effort to never turn away a young girl seeking mentoring and access to college and career planning, API is implementing a strategic expansion of our signature programs for teen girls. We need your help to raise $15,000 this year!
Your donation directly supports API’s efforts to empower girls to find their voice, become confident leaders, and affect positive change in their communities. Girls who have access to our programs become leaders in their schools, start their own non-profits, and advocate for girls’ education everywhere through increased civic engagement.
Your support also assists the Alice Paul Institute with supporting two key components of our mission: the devoted preservation of our beloved Paulsdale, and our continued advocacy for legal and lasting gender equality with the passage of the Equal Rights Act.
Paulsdale, the childhood home of suffragist and equal rights activist Alice Paul, is one of a handful National Historic Landmarks devoted to celebrating the life of a woman. It is also the headquarters of API which continues the work of Alice Paul and her advocacy for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment which she authored and first introduced in 1923. The ERA has yet to be fully ratified and made a constitutional amendment. With your financial support, together we can ensure its passage in the near future to grant women and men equal legal status and protection under the law.
We welcome one-time donations of any amount, and we are especially thankful for our rapidly growing number of sustaining donors whose recurring donations enable the staff and volunteers to create meaningful and lasting leadership experiences for women and girls.
