Champions of Equality: Alice Paul's Quaker Spices

Tuesday, June 9th

6:30 PM

Virtual

Join APC on June 9th for our next virtual Champions of Equality. Historian Alice Alvarado will be talking with us about her research on Alice Paul’s Quaker upbringing.

Paul was born into a Hicksite Quaker family in New Jersey. Although Paul left institutionalized Quakerism, she challenged believers to return to the original Quakerism of their ancestors. Her lived faith is witnessed through the practical application of the Quaker  “SPICES,” which successfully shaped the strategies of the National Woman’s Party in the American women’s suffrage movement between 1910 and 1920.

Champions of Equality is now on Patreon! As a special preview of the type of content available to subscribers, this program will be free for all to join using the Zoom link below.
