Join the Alice Paul Institute in celebrating 40 years of fighting for gender equality by helping to preserve and share the stories of everyday people making feminist history in New Jersey. You can add to the public record by bringing your materials to one of our community archiving days to be scanned for the digital archive launching at the end of 2024. You will also receive a copy of your scans for your own digital records.
What to Bring:
– Paper ephemera such as flyers, posters, documents, or newsletters
– Small 2D works of art
– Printed photographs
– Your stories
– No more than 5 items to be scanned
We will NOT digitize:
– Commercially produced items, for example national magazines. We want personal items- objects that are unique to you or your organization.
– Very fragile materials
– Light sensitive materials, for example film negatives
– Books or bound scrapbooks- objects need to be able to lay flat on a scanner without putting pressure on the spine.
– Anything that contains sensitive personal, medical, and financial information.
What will happen with your digital records:
– They will be added to our digital archive launching at the end of 2024.
– You will be emailed a copy of your files after the event.
